Located in the beautiful Nilgiri Hills, this popular holiday destination is perfect to visit any time of the year. The picturesque views are innumerable with the lakes and mountains this heavenly place has to offer.

The establishment of numerous tea estates made Ooty famous. Lofty mountains, dense forest, sprawling grasslands and miles and miles of tea gardens greet the passengers on most routes. The annual Tea and Tourism Festival attracts crowds in huge numbers to visit the place and have a great time in this wonderful place. The environment is so wonderful that is invites a lot of tourist attraction who come here to enjoy a wonderful time with nature while staying close to huge landscape

Wake up as early as 5.30 and trek to the Doddabetta peak. The highest peak in Ooty offers the most serene sunrise. Situated at a height of 2637m (8650 ft) above the sea level is perfect for your adventurous pictures. The peak is surrounded by abundant reserved forests. There is an observatory at the top with two telescopes for a view of exuberant beauty. Also, if you enjoy drinking tea and would like to get to know the process, take a little detour on your way to the Dodabetta tea factory.  

The exuberant forest around contribute to the blissful early morning views of Ooty. You can choose to spend more time here and bound to get addicted to this peaceful place.

After bone crunching trek, having the glimpse of mesmerizing views of sunrise, greenery now time to get your nerves stimulated to the serene waters of Pykara Lake. It’s about an hour’s drive to this place. Pykara Lake is one of the sacred rivers named after a village called Pykara. The river flows as a plethora of waterfalls; two of them being the Pykara waterfall. Due to its wonderful location in the Nilgiris it gets rain from both the monsoons. You can let your body feel the streams of water which provides the healing and soothing effect, else you can also choose to get the natural massage by visiting Pykara falls and by bowing your head to the mighty nature or having the natural Jacuzzi bath. Beware of the force and the depth of water, be cautious on how you reach the place which is calm and peaceful.

  For a thrilling experience you can also hire a boat and adore the view around. Various options including the row boat, paddle and motor boats are available.

After the tumultuous trek, sight of the serenity and the experience of placid flow of waters and the roaring falls, it’s time to break the fast with one of the most famous eateries of Ooty, rated topmost of all restaurants in Ooty “Adayar Ananda Bhavan”. Its nearly 14km away from the lake takes hardly around 30 – 35 minutes to reach this place. Quench your hunger by tasting some authentic south Indian dishes.

After quite the work out time by trekking and a scrumptious typical south Indian breakfast, it’s time to take a break and enjoy some breath taking varieties of roses at the government Rose Garden formerly known as Jayalalitha Rose garden with views of over 20,000 varieties of roses of 2800 cultivars being the largest in India. Surely not to miss the arrangement of this blooming flower bed in five curving terraces generously spread over 9 acres. Ooty being blessed with the unique tropical mountain climate is one of the perfect places to grow roses with uniform rain year around. One can also find astonishing colors of roses like green, black, purple, etc. The garden has been designed with rose tunnels, pergolas, bowers with rose creepers. Also, pruned figurines of animals, toy train, instruments can be found during certain festival seasons.

Relax, rejuvenate and enjoy your time amidst spectacular flora. Now time to experience one of the steepest railway tracks in Asia. 25 – 30 km from rose garden, Hop on one of this oldest train for a remarkable journey. This is one of the oldest railways in India built by the British in 1908. The train operates for a distance of 46km from Udhagamanadalam station I.e., ooty to Mettupalayam with a stopover at Conoor. It travels through 208 curves, 16 tunnels and across 250 bridges.

Not only good for its nature but Ooty also has lot of temples and churches too.  You could also explore the wild life at the Madumalai National park.

The lake is surrounded by a rolling landscape with blooming flowers like magnolias, orchids and rhododendrons. One can also chose to camp near the lake.

Time to test your taste buds with some extravagant extracts of cocoa at “Moddys Chocolate” It’s almost an hour’s drive to this place from the hotel amidst some placid nature. Hear the sounds of bustling leaves and experiencing the soothing fresh air while you rip the wheels on roads for your evening snack.

On the way to Moddy’s visit the most glamorous chocolate museum of Ooty, to taste all the varieties and flavors of chocolates of the place.
